Employer Dispute Process

Kultivia exists to provide honest, verified workplace culture data to job seekers. We take our content standards seriously — and that means we give employers a fair process to flag submissions that genuinely violate our guidelines.

This page explains when disputes are valid, how to submit one, and how decisions are made.

Important

Disputes are for submissions that violate our Content Guidelines — not for submissions that are negative or that you disagree with. Kultivia does not remove reviews simply because an employer finds them unfavorable. Attempting to abuse the dispute process may result in account review.

Valid grounds for a dispute

A submission may be disputed if it:

  • The submission names or clearly identifies a specific individual.
  • The submission contains a verifiable false statement of fact.
  • The submission contains discriminatory, threatening, or harassing content.
  • The submission contains contact information, links, or promotional content.
  • The submission is demonstrably about a company the submitter did not work at.

Not valid grounds for a dispute

A dispute will not be upheld because:

  • You disagree with the rating or believe it is unfair.
  • The experience described does not reflect your view of company culture.
  • The submission is negative but does not violate any specific guideline.
  • Other employees have had different experiences.
  • The submission describes a situation that has since been resolved.

How the dispute process works

1

Submit a dispute

Log in to your employer dashboard and navigate to the submission in question. Click "Dispute this review" and provide a written explanation of why you believe the submission violates our Content Guidelines. Disputes must reference a specific guideline — general disagreement with a rating is not grounds for removal.

2

Review period

Our moderation team reviews every dispute within 5 business days. During this time the submission remains visible. We review the original submission against our Content Guidelines, any evidence provided by the employer, and the context of the submission.

3

Decision and notification

You will receive a written decision by email. Decisions are either "Upheld" (submission removed or edited) or "Not upheld" (submission remains). All decisions include a brief explanation of the reasoning.

Employer responses

Regardless of the dispute outcome, all employers can post an official response to any verified submission. Employer responses appear directly below the submission and are labeled as an official employer reply. This gives you a voice without removing legitimate employee feedback.
