Every culture rating on Kultivia comes from a verified current or former employee. Verification is what separates Kultivia from platforms where anyone can post anything — it is what makes the data trustworthy.
Here is exactly how verification works, what data we use, and how your privacy is protected throughout the process.
LinkedIn connection verification
Most commonWe check that your LinkedIn profile shows current or past employment at the company you are rating. We do not post anything to LinkedIn, store your credentials, or retain your LinkedIn data after verification is complete.
Recruiter or HR email confirmation
AlternativeYou can forward a masked or anonymized version of a job offer, payslip, or HR email to confirm employment. We only look for evidence of the company name and employment period. Personal salary or HR details are not required or retained.
Self-certified for older employment
Legacy rolesFor employment that ended more than five years ago, digital verification may not be available. In these cases we allow self-certification. Self-certified submissions are marked as such and weighted appropriately in our scoring model.
Does verification link my name to my submission?
No. Verification confirms that you are a real person who worked at the company. Once confirmed, your submission is stored independently with no identifying link back to you. We never associate your name with your submission in our database.
Can my employer see that I verified?
No. Employers can see aggregated scores and anonymized submission data for their company. They cannot see who verified, who submitted, or any information that could identify a specific submitter.
What if I no longer have access to a work email?
You can verify using your LinkedIn profile, which persists after you leave a company. If neither LinkedIn nor email verification is available, self-certification is available for older employment.
Can I submit for a company I left years ago?
Yes. There is no time limit on how long ago you worked somewhere. Past employment is as valid as current employment — culture data about how a company operated over time is valuable to job seekers.
What happens if my verification is rejected?
If we cannot confirm your employment, we will let you know and offer alternative verification paths. We will not publish a submission that cannot be verified. If you believe a rejection was made in error, contact us at hello@kultivia.company.
